I'm here on business and staying in the I270-I71 area. Any pointers of places I should check out? I have a meeting tomorrow from 2-4pm, but other than that, I'm good to go. Need a kick-booty restaurant, and some place to blow a wad of cash at :)

So THAT'S why all the hotels were booked! I got stuck in a crappy Baymont Inn and Suites. Forgot to mention I brought the wife and kids with me for company.

South side.

Ouch.

My office is in Carroll.... GoogleMap it. I'm familiar with the South side. It generally sucks.

if you have your kids go to COSI

I know there is a good Mongolian BBQ place downtown. There are some good 'artsy' eateries just north of downtown.

LOL

My cousin wore an OSU jacket into an Ann Arbor restaurant, I hate to even imagine the extra ingredients we got in our food that night. :disgust:

Wright Patterson Air Force Base is pretty cool. They have a decomissioned SR-71 Blackbird there. :)

That'd be great if he were in Dayton instead of Columbus.... :p

What part of Ohio are you from? Ohio isn't that bad -- it's just not the type of environment that some people enjoy.

You're definitely on the wrong side of town if you're looking for fancy places etc. COSI is a great place to go with the kids, as is the Columbus Zoo. Take the family out to Cameron Mitchell stake house if you want to spend a ton and get great food.

Swing by the OSU campus to wander around, it's nice. Lots of places to go out etc, lots of choices.

The parentals are from the north. The West has absolutely spoiled me. Canyons, wide open spaces, mountains, alpine lakes, crystal clear night skies, clean mountain air, the good exercise, photo ops, etc.

Ohio is just too confined for me. It's flat, but you can't see far because there are trees everywhere. It's very constrictive. Nothing is "grand."

The Hocking Hills part of Ohio isn't too bad, as well as the Amish parts and the more southern parts that are very open, but all these can't compare to the west IMO.

Poopy :(

Ah... I live in the Hocking Hills. IMHO, if you're looking for an "urban country", this is it. It's definitely country, and it's definitely scenic, but you're still close to Columbus.

It's perfect. :p

If you are looking to kill some time and want to do me a favor, you could head over to tOSU's campus and snap Ted Ginn's femur. It would really help me out.

:D
