Haha, that part is so true. I went back to China a couple of years ago and I was on the bus and I noticed that all the girls had hair dyed or streaked and they all looked really damn hot.

which school are you in? are you studying mandarin?

I'm in a program with Georgia Tech faculty taught on SJTU campus. I have two classes on the Xuhui campus and one on the Minhang campus. I'm taking 1 EE class and 2 management classes, so no Mandarian. I live in an apartment in Minhang, unfortunately.

/waves at fellow Techie :D

Ahhh,, I'm a spoiled brat that's come here to visit family till August, LOL yea, ik, lots of time, anyhow it's mostly vacation. I haven't taken any pics yet, because i live in the stupid hotel i'm in Fuzhou , most of my family is here, I'm technically interning, but i don't have to do anything since i'm under apprenticeship of my uncle "this is some sort of wierdo insurance company that co-ops with real estate (not realestate insurance), and like just random things, i guess this is an umbrella corporation, but it doesn't seem nearly as organized", "i get personal Car+ a Driver) and i get to spend money on anything, only one problem,, GUNDAM MODELS are MAD hard to find here. only 2 stores. Cloths seem actually more expensive here than in US even with the Currency converted.

Thats pretty much what i've been doing, and also ,, i saw this car that had a big sticker on it that said BATTLE CARUISER... Say that and stress the UUUU to urself ,, hilarious..

have you guys noticed that the water heaters here look like NUCLEAR gundam Pods. like the ones made by "HAIER" holy crap, those things are scary looking and HUGE...

Loving the squat toilets , no need for seat covers. Toilet paper here is sand paper grade though ,, no sooo bad,, but i've noticed that even if they're put in water, they show NO sign of disintegration.

Most people here make 2000 a month, I have no idea how all the new apartments being 6000Y+ per cubic meter are all BOUGHT and sold as soon as they are put up.

A good brand shirt here is like 200-300 "kid cloths" like nonchalant cloths,
Like anything Great is like 900-1200. i mean, i buy what ever i like regardless, but how the hell are the others buying it, seems like alot of fraud transactions going on here.

Buying realestate here has to be 100% pre approved by government, soo, lots of people bypass that here through insider tradin methods. I think this is terrible because land here does not have "pre" determined usage, so you can build a Coal plant next to apartment buildings if one had the necessary connections/ money. "it's unlikely still, but it does allow things like polution and overcrowding to occur."

IT"S FKING HUMID AND HOT.. let me say that again IT"S FKING HUMID AND HOT

I'm scared of squat toilets, in 4 weeks I've been sucessfully able to avoid them by only using the toilet at home and at the hotel on SJTU campus (Faculty Club). I have IBS so this is fairly difficult..I've been hopping myself up on Immodium though and it works pretty good :p

The weather isnt that bad, very similar to Atlanta and College Station (near Houston)..not that bad. And I spent the last two summers in Phoenix, so yeah this aint got nothing on that heat.

Our hot water heater in our apartment is tankless, and its really awesome. It hasn't run out even with super long showers, when my apartment hotwater heater in Atlanta would be drained. I'm guessing during the winter that it isn't that great (cause the water temperature would be needed to be heated so much), otherwise wouldn't everybody in the States be using those?

In Shanghai, the expat newspaper offers top-notch, brand new condos for 16000 Y per square meter, $2100 USD per square meter, or $195 per square foot. Thats not as outrageous as some were originally telling me it was (about what a suburban American houses cost in a nice subdivision around Dallas), but considering that most people make far less money than they do in the US, that's fairly high. I'm sure that the suburbs and junkier buildings sell for far less than that, but still. Starting engineers here with masters degrees making 90000Y, or less than $12000 USD.

Hey, do they still have those toliets where people use buckets of water to wash their asseses? I know in thailand, they use to have that, but now they are starting to use TP more...

Toilets in developing countries scare me. Regardless China... thats one place where I want to go. Maybe next year. My mandarian tutor is planning a trip to Shanghai.

that's called a bidet, and I haven't seen any of those here. Popular in Europe also though. No, here they haven't evolved from the hole in the ground, so that's what a squat toilet is..a literal hole in the floor that you squat over. It would be a tough deal to be a girl..

There are fresh cookies, you just don't know where to get them.

Probably true, I mean , there are a CRAP load of Cakes stores here all much more colorful and artistically styled, for like 1/8 the price.

Like dame, i was like,, can i order a cake, and they're like,, yea sure.. I was like well what can you do besides flowers and writting my name on it. And the guy was like,, The most rediculous thing anyone has ever asked me was a Gundam Cake.. AND I Fking Assploded.
----Sooo,, I bought 4. taste really greasy since all that cream was used to make the frosting Gundams. THe frosting here is so much better though. very rich. The cake texture is also better IMo, because there's no Baking powder/soda or yeast. It's done with Egg alone. tastes great and more spongy than the norm.

About the girls. I wouldn't say, "Hot" exactly,, i mean more ,, ,"I'd do it, for sure, maybe in public."

but yea,, this really tells me a huge portion of outer appearence relies on Hair style. Being the Brute that I am, I've always had a military cut, though not so rigid.
