Can't be a marinade b/c I want to eat no later than 7 and I work till 5.

If no good ideas come that tempt my palate I think I'll rub the steak w/ olive oil and Montreal Steak Spice. That's always a winner, imho.

I just lit the coals and I'll be slapping my ribeye on the barbie any minute! :)

I'm going to rub with some Montreal and worcestershire.

Salt, pepper, onion. Garlic if you're feeling wild. Grill.

Steak should be kept simple.

I like to get a choice cut of filet mignon (about a 1/2 lb per person-2 inches thick) and rub some fresh chopped garlic into it and sprinkle with a little salt and fresh ground pepper. Stick it in the fridge for about 1/2 hour before cooking. I will heat my BBQ grill up to about 400 degrees with a cast iron skillet sitting in there the entire time. Take steak out and rub it with butter then throw it on the skillet and cook it with the lid down for about 8-10 minutes turning once halfway through.

This will get you a very tender filet with excellent flavor, nothing overpowering the beef and it will be pink through. Best steak I've ever had!

Yeah...if you get the $1.49 per pound POS sirloin you need to beat the hell out of it so its chewable and douce it in steak sauce...

get a nice ribeye, strip, or tbone...just grill...add salt. :D

1) Go to grocery store.
2) Go to Meat / Poultry section
3) Puruse for good rib-eye steak
4) ...
5) Realize that it would be better if you just went to a steak house
6) Go to Steakhouse and dig in. ;) Hope that helps.

No, but seriously. Salt, pepper, garlic, a tiny bit of soy sauce (or oil and vinegar will do too), and some alcohol to tenderize (rice wine).
If you are a traditionalist: salt, pepper, maybe garlic, and then a really good grill. (smoke chips if you like that kind of thing)

Itailian dressing makes a good steak marinade, you dont have to soak it very long, just 15-30 minutes before you put it on the grill.

I don't cook steak long enough for smoke to enhance the flavor at all. That's more for ribs or roasts.

When I buy a steak I only buy the choice cuts from a butcher. No supermarket select crap for me. Life's too short to eat cheap tough supermarket beef.
