I'm gonna miss Russ.. not for everything he did, but some things

I don't agree with all of Russ's decisions, but I do love the fact that he voted against the Patriot Act, TARP, the Iraq War, and I like his grassroots campaigning.

I voted for him every time (1998, 2004, 2010).

Russ Feingold was the one guy I actively campaigned for, calling a list of his past supporters in Wisconsin (from my home in Pa.!)to remind them to vote.

We lost a couple of decent guys here in Pa., too. Admiral Joe Sestak lost his Senate bid to a jug-eared twerp, and in my home district, Iraq war veteran Patrick Murphy.

Like the article said, the root problem isn't that we need better politicians so much as that we need better voters.

As Democrats go, he did seem like one of the better ones.

I still say parties need to go. Not completely, it's everybody's 1st Amendment right to form any political party they want. But they need to be taken off the ballot. The government should not be endorsing parties, it should remain politically neutral. By putting parties on the ballot, it is not only recognizing but endorsing the idea that only parties get to participate in government.

I too was a big fan of russ since he seemed to stay with what he held as his core and his constituents principles.
