The wife's laptop is default because it's plugged in by the couch, which is likely where I'll end up when I get to pouting about my toasted 754.

I suppose that depends on the individual. Taking a 2.4 P4 to 3.6+ has been done and to the person that has done it, it was probably worth every minute.
