I'm going to hate you Anandtech if you make this go out of stock and mwave decides to raise the price there after;) ! Because I haven't gotten the chance to buy one yet (still deciding on which monitor to buy along with my purchase).:)

I was going to wait to post this till after I make my purchase (a few days from now?) but decided to let you know, ahead of time, on the best price on this set so far. Newegg has it for $91.

Mwave has it for $74.65 *Will call for $5

Now let this thread drop so it doesn't get so much exposure! :)

damn...that is a good deal. the mx700 is almost that much by its self.

All tho I can only use split keyboards now, otherwise great deal.

I was excited about this, but $10+ shipping to the east coast calmed me down. I was considering picking it up for ~$80 shipped from staples (using a $20 off $100) but I think I'll wait for a better deal. With a good price and the right coupon or rebate, hese things could be ~$50 in a month or two.

Just got this at Staples for $99.94 - $30 coupon ( I bought some more stuff to get it past $150). This combo is great! There isn't hardly any lag on the mouse!

Price is down to $73.85.... Shipping is kinda high for me in Florida ($10 Ground), but even with the high shipping its still cheaper than anywhere else...

I've heard that you don't want a wireless mouse for gaming b/c of the lag/low refresh--is this true with this mouse as well?

Not with the MX700. It feels just like the MX500 (their corded version), but a bit heavier. It's a great gaming mouse as far as I am concerned.

does anybody else hate the keyboard that comes with the mx duo - the keys are too close together - what ever happened to natural keyboards???

Ditto that. I had the MS Wireless Explorer mouse. Lag was HORRIBLE. However, on my MX700, it's non-existant. Great mouse.

I'm in need of a new keyboard too, and could prolly sell my MX700. But I just bought a new printer, so my funds are tapped. Maybe in the next couple months the price will drop a lil more and I'll be able to get in on this.

I completely agree. I was skeptical but decided to buy the MX700 anyway.....and so far it has been great! The ONLY problems I've had with it are in a few games the extra buttons on the mouse aren't supported. I ended up uninstalling the Logitech software that was shipped with the mouse and everything has worked fine since (the windows default drivers). But as far as lag.....what lag?!? With this mouse you aren't missing a thing! It's just like it's corded counterpart!

i have the mx700, and after using it for 3 months i must say, i'm not really happy with it. it tends to be a little sluggish vs my $10.00 optical corded mouse. it's not as consistent and it doesn't track as well.

the only reason i keep using it is because i spent $70 on the thing. :(

Ditto...no lag to speak of, and don't install all of the software. Only install the drivers so the mouse can work at 600dpi I think, but don't install the software to use the extra buttons. In some games it does the opposite and makes them unusable.

You still need the driver to get 800dpi resolution. Standard is 400dpi. You can install the driver without that nasty MouseWare by unpacking the .exe with WinRAR and installing the driver through Device Manager.

Just a pointer for you, get a gaming mouse pad along with your MX mouse. It makes a huge difference in tracking. I had the same problem when I first got my MX700 from bestbuy for $17.99+tax. :D. After purchasing a gaming mouse pad, everything has been working flawlessly.

Do you mind giving details to someone who's a little slow?

I love my MX700 except when I play UT. The mouse is actually too fast for me in the game and with the amount that I move it around, the extra weight really slows me down when I try to lift it up to move back to the center of the pad. Whenever I play UT, I go back to my Intellimouse Explorer because it is so much lighter. I never expected the weight of a mouse to matter anywhere near that much. Overall I would completely recommend this mouse.

I have the corded version of this keyboard and thoroughly enjoy it. I can't speak for the cordless version but I can't imagine it being too different.

the cordless is heavier than the corded cause it has the battery in it.

Right, I know thats true but it's also true that even the MX500 is heavier than my Explorer. Apparently Logitech included a weight in both the 500 and 700 for some unknown reason. It's pretty easy to remove but voids your warranty so I'm hesitant to do it.

Go to logitech.com and download the newest MouseWare mw976enu.exe, now instead of dbl clicking it to run it, open it with WinRAR (or other archivers, but I only have WinRAR), extract it to a folder of your choice, then in Device Manager (right click My Computer, Properties) point back to <this folder>\<your OS>.

Oh, I forgot to mention: if you have your mouse plugged into USB it shows up under two different categories (HID and Mice). Both entries need to have the driver installed. You have to try out all devices listed under HID and see which one will accept the driver since the devices aren't labeled clearly.

PS2 is much easier (only one device entry under Mice), but it requires a restart for the new driver to take effect.

download the mouseware installation. then open WinRAR (WinACE wont work) and browse to the folder that you downloaded mouseware to, and double click the mouseware file. it'll open the file as if it was a zip/ace/rar/etc. then you can extract the "Win2k_XP" folder to your hard drive. after that go to device manager, right click on mouse and update the driver by telling it to search in that Win2k_XP folder. it should then recognize the mouse as "HID-compliant MX500(or 700) mouse":)

don't know if it actually does what Viper says it does, but no harm if it doesnt...

deit: doh... he beat me to it...
