I've been catching up on articles about the Astros' incredible late season run, and I come across this quote from Phil Garner, the Astros' manager. What the heck?

''I've complained all year about not being able to get a run in from third, so I'm going to kiss his lunch for getting that one in,'' manager Phil Garner said of Ausmus' game-winner.

huh? I think he's confused. When you are pissed at a subordinate, you come down and eat their lunch for them. It's from Wall Street (the movie). He is trying to make it go the other way and it's not like that...

what you have to understand is that our boy phil here went to college at the university of tennessee and thus he is incapable of properly conveying his thoughts :p

''We've got to win - we could care less about anything except getting wins right now,'' Biggio said.
i wonder if bidge actually said that or if the reporter and editor should be fired?

He had to have said it since he always says the "right" things. It drives me nuts. At least Ausmus admitted that he was paying attention to the score of the Cardinals/Padres game.
