My brother's dog is driving me nuts. Her kennel is right outside my window, & since it's nice out I have the window open. I've been trying to sleep, but she won't shut up. Whining like the little bitch that she is. My brother refuses to do anything with her because "it's not (his) problem." He says if I want to buy her a shock collar I can, but I don't know how much they cost or where to get them. She has nothing to whine about, it's a beautiful night out, she has food & water, & she's perfectly safe.

Whiny little bitch.

She needs to snuggle up at the foot of "someone's" bed.
Do the right thing man.

yeah, but Beagles are "people dogs". Your dog is not happy because she got used to being around someone and it is actually a bit depressing to her to be out all night alone -reguardless whether she's got a place to sleep, food, and water.

If you spend more time with the dog or just let her sleep indoors every other night or something, it should get better with time.

It's not that easy to drown out the sound of a dog whining or barking even if your window is shut.

its feeling lonely..

Roll up a blanket and put it by its side. Also wind up a manual alarm clock (turn off the alarm) and place it by its side. The ticking will keep it company.

Edit: by any chance is it a new dog?

She probably won't be out there all night, just until my brother goes to bed. Then she'll have her usual spot on her pillow.

I don't know... Probably more of the same.

Actually, it'd be a .22. :p

You don't understand... It is beautiful out tonight. Cool, quiet, absolutely wonderful. Except for the whiny little dog outside my window. I want the breeze in my room.

The_good_guy

We've had her for a while, like 8 months. She was found by a friend of my grandparents, with a pellet lodged under her skin. They pulled out the pellet, but since they already had 5 dogs they couldn't keep her. My brother ended up with her. She's barely housebroken, if you don't watch her VERY carefully she'll relieve herself anywhere she sees fit. She's a little beggar, and a thief to boot. We had a loaf of french bread on the table, in a paper bag. She got up on the table, got the bread, & ate the whole damned loaf. She was sick all night long.

Perhaps you have to burn it in first before regular overclocking...

With how many MHz is it whining now? ;)

Whoooops, I forgot, we are off topic...:Q

She's a dog. She spends most of her time inside, she sleeps in my brothers room, she gets plenty of attention. It's not going to kill her to spend a few hours outside so the people in this household can get things done for a while.

Okay let me get this straight..the problem is that you can hear the dog because your window is open.

Solution: close the window. It seems as if your brother isn't the only stubborn one here.

With the weather we've been having here, the house is still warm. If I don't have the window open the room will quickly become hot & stuffy. The window is open to 1) get rid of the hot air that's already in here, and 2) get my room as cool as possible before the heat hits tomorrow. That way when I get up mid-morning tomorrow I can shut my window & the blinds, & keep my cool air in & the hot air out.

Hmm, I've never seen a room getting hot and stuffy when there's no sunlight outside.

Oregon can't be all that different from California can it?

The rest of the house is still warm from the daytime heat.

Give her a squirt of lemon juice in the mouth when she does something wrong. Dogs hate it!! The weather for Oregon is 78 on sat, 65 drizzle on sun, 71 on mon. I'll be at the Beach. Have a good one:D
