Get some quality RAM please, and configure the system correctly.

I am a system admin and I would have to be held at gunpoint to load ME on a work machine ;)

Lowered expectations can solve many problems. ;)

No kidding, I've had Win2000 for a couple years now and I had maybe two bluescreens the whole time and I blame overclocking for those.

I run Win2K on a majority of my systems and I also run 2003 .Net Server

Nice way to start your Anandtech membership.
And do you have facts to back up your statement?

You honetsly think this is true. Everybody knows ME stands for Mistake Edition. They had some apes from the Bronx zoo do that one.
Trust me ElFenix don't do ME. If you want something more stable than 98 try DOS. But ME won't do anything good for you.
The problems you get on a 98 machine are so much easier to fix than Millenium. Working in a computer store has proven this to me.
If anything do NT or 2000 if the machine isn't fast enough for XP. Atleast with those the BSOD tell you helpful information where as ME will say
"Your system has been halted." For no reason.

Ok.
I installed and used ME at work on a couple dozen machines including laptops. They were running without any crashes longer than any 98/98SE machine I have used. These computers were used very heavily: constant compilations, database ops, etc. I would RARELY get a blue screen; instead it was a problem with a particular app crashing, which again was not common at all.

ME ships with much more drivers than 98, too.

So let's not get into ME vs 98 :)

It might be ok in an office, other than that, it sucks.

I think his attitude reflects a true knowledge of Windows ME.

I found Win98SE to be far more stable back when I was building systems. But like I said before, Win ME made me a lot of money so I was happy to install that for any sucker err customer who wanted it.

Win2k and XP own all the old win9x versions.

i installed 98 on a laptop not too long ago... it was a pain getting the drivers up to date and installed correctly.

Plenty of facts to back it up, but I don't feel like writing a report. I'll just say that I've used almost every OS and ME is the worse. I'd rather use Windows 3.1

LOL, move to XP/2K and you wouldn't have to deal with BSOD in the first place.

Sounds like someone should do an official up to date OS poll
I'm feeling lazy tonight ;)
