This is the first time I'm getting a car tinted.
I'm tired of the sun beating on me during my commute.
Anything I need to know? or anything I should avoid?
Thanks.

This is true in same states you are not allowed to tint the front side windows at all. Some you can tint slightly. The tint runner on the top front windshield can only go so far down in some states.

And then if you talk to the owner or manager and tell they you will pay cash under the table they will tint the whole bitch up provided you dont take a reciept 🙂

I did that with my 85 olds cutlass super sport with t-tops and new white paint. It looked sweeeeeeeeet!

Civics are ugly, but not if you get a fat fart-pipe with a 4-ft wing, maybe some lit rims that spin, oh and some kickin lights under your car to make it stand out even more.

stock civics haven't been inspiring since 92-94...

however this type of modding being described is what a wannabe from the Fast/Furious era would do.

Pre Fast&Furious people who were original to the import scene would know what I mean.

i had limo all the way around on my 92 blazer, even though it's illegal. arkansas doesn't have vehicle inspections like texas so if i get pulled over and if they ask about it i tell them i bought it like that.

right before i sold it i already had one black strip on the top of the windshield so i put about a 8 inch black strip running on the bottom. if i was getting head, noone knew...

You waited a long time to test that theory, didn't you 😉 😛

I'm getting my car [windows] tinted soon too...Michigan law is like 35% on the rear windshield and left/right, but I think I'm gonna go 30% all the way around except for the front...decisions, decisions.

I just found this after a Google search.

Very true, my co-worker got a ticket a couple of months ago because his Grand Am windows were to dark and he didnt know he bought the car like that.

I live in FL, and I drive a black Civic, so you can imagine the heat. A buddy of mine new a guy who would come out and do it at his house. It was the best $114 I ever spent. My tint is the expensive stuff - has metal in it, not dye (no purple windows for me). You can take your chances with getting darker than legal. Personally, I think the legal tint is ridiculous. I think it's 30%-35% here, but I think mine is 15%. I was told by an officer buddy of mine that you won't get pulled for somehting like that but if you get pulled for something else, they can give you a hard time about it. He also said that because I didn't drive some suped-up flashy Fast and the Furious car, I wouldn't be bothered by cops. If I ever were to get puled over, I just put all my windows down. Got a strip across the front that's illegal too, goes to fa down, but man is it sweet. Cut down on the heat by at least 50-60%. And, it looks great. Oh yea, no inspections in FL. But, my brother lives in North Carolina where they have inspections. He said he took it to a car place that does inspecitons owned by a bunch of Mexicans. They never even said a thing.
