What are you trying to become?

I'm currently a sysadmin at a largish national company and make $75k. I find it terribly unrewarding and it is not where my strengths lie. I.T. is just something I was pretty good at and I was in the right place at the right time to move up the chain. I have no degree, no certs, and to be honest no interest.

I am a couple of credits from getting my BA in psych and will be going into a part-time grad program for School Psychology (I've found that I'm really fascinated by middle school psych, and it's a field where you can truly help under-served kids). Once that is complete I'd be interested in going back for a phd, possibly Educational Psych, with the intention of teaching.

So, about 4 years part time for my BA (since I already had some credits) and 4 years for my
Master of Education, Ed.S. certification, and apprenticeship.

FUck it, im going to submit my resume to the fbi to be a special agent with a focusin law, i havemy masters in legal analysis already and great work experience in auditing and accounting on a legal level.

They compensate you well for training so i wont haveto wait so long.

Wish me luck! Wont put all my eggs in one basket though, i hear its tough to get through phaseII

Wife shouldnt mind, she hates it here and loves to be on the move, plus we have no children, andshe would lime to actually live in dc haha

Once i move to vermont, im leaving the legal field and will go through and become a certifed peace officer and try to work for some municipality or other gov agency somewhere as apolice officer with thebintention of being a detective some day.

Im sick of my cubed walls and working for attys, being a paralegal sucks but its better than being unemployed right now with a degree in flipping burgers.

Would also look into fire/emt training as well. I dont know why i didnt focuson that before. :(

28 is starting to sound really old

Good for you! I would have started looking into Grad schools but doing what you want is important.

But why VT?

vT was considered because of its location and topography, other than that no reason :) just good experiences there. But if i follow through with my recent post., i wont have a choice where i live!

It takes a while and a process to get into LEO or EMT or fire positions.... be aware of this before you make the decision.

Hah, I got my EMT certification during a Summer in College. Nothing hard about it, never used it though since the pay is terribad.

I don't know, maybe you should consider somewhere closer to Civilization. ^_^

I would either go somewhere warm like California, Florida areas or stay in MA. MA has everything, except bad roads and winter sucks.

Bro in law is an agent in N.Y. At first he was working on internet crimes like pirated vids, software. Moved to anti terrorism dept and loves it. As an aside, he almost didn't make it because of the height requirement. 5'10"iirc

If you can't make it immediately, you're better off getting into an entrance program like Law (JD), Military, or Law Enforcement.
