Missing Documents
1. Student Intent to Register

I have to find out what this intent to register form is, and when I have to submit it by. My first choice is Cal Poly, which I plan to go to unless I'm accepted to UCSD and two of my good friends also decide to go there. YAY, HOT WHITE CHICKS AND SAND DUNES, HERE I COME! 🙂

It's so great to know you're going to a good college 🙂 Oh yeah, and screw the two people who said I had little to no chance of getting in.

What does "conditionally admitted" mean? 😕
It means I have to send in that Intent to Register paper or what-not and sign up for one of the campus tours to be fully admitted.

Caltech >>>>>>>> Calpoly

Sorry, Calpoly is a good school but the two just don't compare in terms of resources or prestige.

caltech is still much harder to get into than CAL or ucla... but I think its smaller in terms of size (only technical majors IIRC)

I hope u are joking

I dont know, the OP seems pretty confident that CalPoly was a good school. Ive never heard of it so i figure it might have been some small engineering college

Look at it this way...at least, according to the rankings, I don't believe California Polytech falls into the top fifty universities in the United States. However, this is a more all-around system of ranking based on all programs. CalPoly may do better if you look at engineering programs, but it still won't hang with the big boys like MIT/CMU/CalTech/Berkeley.

oh ok that answered it, thanks

CalTech is strong in Biological/Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, and Engineering, it is weak in Economics, and Political science.

cal and ucla much better than cal poly

cal poly is a state system, while cal and ucla are UC systems.

CAL vs UCLA depends on the major, but I am skewed towards CAL since I graduated from there 😀😀

caltech is in a category by itself.

CalPoly is NOT easy to get into, especially for prospective engineers. Congrats, and enjoy two years of stupid GE's with 200 person classes

There is no comparison.

I think UCLA Engineering > Cal engineering (marginally)?
