I'm going to buy a PS3 when the MGS4 Bundle is released

Brother has a Wii and not interested in a 360.


Anyhow I compiled a list of 1-2 player games that will be on top of my to play list.

To Buy 1-2:

• Grand Theft Auto IV
  Folklore
  Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  The Club
  Resistance: Fall of Man
  Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction

To Buy 1-4:

• Rock Band

To Rent:

• Heavenly Sword
  Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
  Assassin's Creed

I am looking for a few titles to have for when we have 3-4 people wanting to play. We might just stick to the Wii for that with Super Smash and Kart coming out which I think he has preordered.

Maybe you ought to keep an eye out for hot deals for those games starting now? I think there will be a Greatest Hits thing going on for a few titles (like Resistance). I heard that somewhere, anyway. So you could wait for those, too.

I'll probably look to get a PS3 around the holiday, although I doubt it will be with the latest episode of the Metal Gear Solid movie. There's been reports of the Cell being shrunk down to 45nm (less power, and less expensive). This MGS4 bundle may aligning Sony to move older product before the newer chips are added.

Rock band definately... Motorstorm would be cool + can be found pretty cheap used... I cant remember if that is 4 player though, it might only be 2

Also, might want to check out Ratchet and Clank Future Tools of Destruction.. Its only single player, but its a great game worth a look IMO.

motorstorm is not even 2 player on the same console. it's only multiplayer online.


and r&c is my favorite game of last year probably (single player wise) if that says anything.

I've been thinking the same thing lately. I've had a 360 since launch day, and I've been managing so far. Now with the HD DVD/Blu Ray thing over, it may be time to jump on the PS band wagon. I've never owned one before, and don't follow any of the tech news at all.

Modeps - are you saying that it would be better to get an older system with the larger Cell processor (more power, but bigger)? Or does the smaller processor help with tech troubles? I've never been a fan of MGS, so the bundle really doesn't matter to me.

Not to mention they are less expensive to produce so that savings could potentially be passed onto the consumer.

Sadly I doubt that will happen -- it is Sony afterall. Would love to see it happen though and in my mind it's what needs to happen to make the unit more accessible. If they could make the 40gb $299 with a free game in it (like a Greatest Hits cheap title) I think it would move much better.

I think it would be nice to see

40gb with a game, dual shock controller -- $299
80gb with MGS4, dual shock controller - $399
120gb with MGS4/BR movie, dual shock controller - $499

Maybe one day it will happen .. who knows.
