I'm glad for FOX News

I've been watching a lot of news lately, and CNN and to some extent, MSNBC (Olberman, Mathews) are just as liberal as Fox news hosts O'Reilly and John Gibson are conservative

The news on CNN, particularly the hourly updates have just as much of a liberal slant as anything on FOX is conservative.

On CNN the other night, a reporter was doing one of those "And now we go to Jane Foley in Washington with the story" narratives, and she said sarcastically and with amazing unprofessionalism:

"And so the President says, how should I put this, that he'll be getting back to the "peoples" business."

My dad who is a moderate was watching and we both looked at each other like WTF was that... she said it with extreme sarcasm and I was amazed to hear that.

Anyway I am very glad that Fox news exists to provide a counterbalance to the liberal media stations, because they really are overt, especially lately. I wouldn't want a world w/o CNN, but most liberals probably would prefer a world without FOX... but for those who want varying opinions being expressed and different options to glean info from, it's better with both.

Fox also has the best punditry by far IMO. Mort Kondracke, Bill Kristol (OMG! NEOCON!), the lady from NPR, Charles Krauthammer, Alan Colmes (a mature liberal)

Alan Colmes (a mature liberal) compared the Sean Hannity (hysterical conservative).

The only two I like on Fox is Shepard Smith and Bill O'Riely (mainly because I find his pompousness extremely hilarious). .

Funny, I think the same about you, now we know the source...ah-ha!

that colmes guy is there to smear lefties for being nerdy weenie types like him, laughable but pretty sad he is respected.

Funny that the righties I know are the ones like colmes -projecting ones enemy as self?

faux news is wwf pro-wrestling meets rove's fax machine.

K.

Anyway, lol... once again, so much focus (like a bunch of 12 year olds) on appearance... Colmes is calm and reasonable, and I'm not a fan of Sean Hannity.

And I don't look anything like Alan. My other hobby is bodybuilding. 🙂

Steep's hobby is trying to look as weird as possible. He's pretty good at it.😉

That guy is a sellout weenie and by calling him that I mean he has no intergrity to bend over for obvious liars and not hold them to it.

I am not going to go there, but...

Steeple, I am beyond your personal criticism, for all you know I could be a 60 year old woman... it's pointless for you to make little personal attacks like you are, and continues to show your severe reasoning deficit

The fact that for no reason you try to make the point that because I enjoy weight training (and other sports and athletics) that its supercompensating is such a moronic thing to do I can't even understand why you would... you imply that you're over 30 but you act like an angst filled teenager... if anyone takes you seriously on this forum it would be a big surprise to me.

I, like the OP, am also very glad for Fox News. It gives the American public an open window into the minds of the neoconservatives in this country. Either you see right through them or you flock to them. That is America, choices. However, anyone who claims that any other major news outlet is just as biased to the left as Fox is to the right is delusional IMO. As Steeplerot stated, their teleprompter is hard wired into Roves fax machine. Nothing short of 24/7 propaganda. But I will defend their right to do whatever they wish, even if I don't agree with their methods or the right wing echo chamber that they belong to. IMO, all the major news outlets combined are not half as biased Fox News.

I disagree, there is plenty of media including CNN that rivals the bias. Perhaps you see less because you agree more with what's being said

It's funny to me how most of the left absolutely refuses to admit that the establishment media has a liberal bent

Oh noes some one mocked the presidents claim to get back to the "peoples" business." Should the president always be working for the peoples intrest and not haliburtions?

What part of that quote is liberal?

It may be unprofessional, but liberal? And it's a shot at his excessive corporate welfare programs.

You are not liberal just because you would rather have a used sponge as president than Bush. I can show each and every reason I don't want Bush as president by using articles from the Cato Institute; are they recently liberal?

Actually as I have stated here a few times, I stopped watching TV news all together over a year ago and have never looked back. I prefer to Google News several times a day so I can read 20 different angles on every news item they link. The only time I will watch is if I am flipping through the channels and see some Breaking Story. Then I always flip back and forth between Fox and CNN to see how both sides are spinning it, either CNN does a better of job of hiding their bias or I am just not seeing it. I can't comment on any of the others (MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS) as I haven't watched any of those outlets in longer than a year. I use Fox and CNN since most people here claim they are both the most biased to their leanings.

Good point

Given though that a sizeable majority of reporters are liberal, I'd put money on my analysis ... it was extremely unprofessional and I've never heard something like that on Fox or MSNBC frankly

What? Colmes is the whimpish Jewish guy battling a tough guy from Long Island, NY? What?!!

To the "delusional right" <100% conservative/wingnut = liberal, and obviously anything anti-Bush = liberal biased

Aye, it is possible that she is liberal on the levels of Michael Moore, but the quote doesn't really show it.

And for me, I'd take MSNBC over CNN any day. It's not even a tough debate on which one to choose.

That show really sucks...

I do love Meet the Press though

Meet the Press and Face the Nation are great for one on one interviews. However, when its panel discussion time, its three big liberals and one guy from the National Review or the Weekly Standard. Not exactly a fair discussion each week 🙂

Good thing we have Fox out there not doing something like that!

Oh right, we don't.

Sean Hannity, now there's a Fox nutcase. My pennance is listening to Hannity's radio show 10 minutes per week. Tougher than 1,000,000 Hail Mary's!

I swear if Bush/Rove/Cheney came out and said the world was flat, the next day Hannity would have the whole show dedicated to that purpose, with "experts"discussing it, politicians confirming it, Coulter saying the only reason it wasn't known before is that the Libs were covering it up or too stupid, etc, etc.

Fox unbiased, shows all sides? Better check your prescription dude.

"It's all the LIBS fault--my meds are too expensive to refill!!!!" 😀

yea that seems to be the Fox News/right wing response to everything wrong with this country. it's all the liberals' fault. well guess what, you control the House, Senate, and the presidency. you can do whatever you want with your majority, liberals aren't holding you back at all.
