I have ran memtest for 13 hours with no failures. Lemme take a step back and ask a question. I have never changed my ram timings from auto as well as the ram voltage. I have always assumed if I leave the ram on auto it will run at relaxed timings, is this true? I mean... maybe, just MAYBE... the ram is running at tighter timings at auto and thus results in odd os issues? I have never had this problem in the past 10 years of building but, hell... im down to the wire!

As far as the ide drivers... im getting more and more confused as you guys post. I install the nvidia chipset pack and when it asks if I want three seperate drivers... something, ethernet, and IDE... I just uncheck the IDE drivers? OR... are you saying dont install the IDE SW crap after that screen that makes ide's run optimized? I have never installed those if that is what you mean...

I have changed everything in this system other than the ram, cpu, and powersupply. I am ready to toss this off a roof, thanks for all the kindness and help here, I see a small light at the end of a tunnel...

Or is it a train?

In your bios, do you have your PEG LINKS set to anything other than AUTO?

I set it to FASTER, and my computer kept locking up after booting into windows.

Good luck

CHECK your board for shorts!!! make sure you install washers, make sure your own heatsink backplate is on the right side. I made that mistake and shorted my board, and the rmaed new one is working without any problem after I checked those shorts and taped the standoffs and installed the washers.

how about both sides if you have enough paper washers.. I just duck-taped the standoffs and open holes in them.
use your common sense, man.
