Do not move to California. State income tax is killer (9 point fvcking 3%). Traffic sucks (I mean fvcking suicide sucks). Traffic is so bad I stay at work until at LEAST 7:30. It takes 45 minutes to go 5 miles in Los Angeles at rush hour. Even at 7:30 it takes me 20 minutes. However, the weather is unbeatable. I'm talking it's fvcking worth the 9.3% and traffic. The fact that my family and gf is here aren't the reason I don't move out. I've been to Chicago (freezing), Phoenix (burning), Dallas (OMG motherfvcking humid I feel so lazy I don't want to work), Vegas (I would go broke if I lived there), and Portland (I fvcking hate rain).

well just to entertain that thought, if you sell your stuff and make it to 35k you'll have 15k left over which should be enough to sustain you for at least half a year, during which you can get a job again...

Well, I don't know the laws now but back when I went to Jamaica all I needed to bring with me was a copy of my birth certificate. I would gladly go get a passport if offered a trip there again! Seriously, about the coolest place you can imagine.

I recommend Vegas. As long as you don't gamble it is going to be much cheaper to live there than NYC, LA, San Fran or DC. And it is a happenin' place.
