$180.00 a month for two lines. My gf and I are both done with our contracts and we want out! It is just too expensive to keep up with. We could afford it but it's just a lot of extra money going out the door. It seems to me that the trend is finally dying down. I'm going to go onto a T-Mobile dealer plan which is $25.00 a month for 1000 anytime nationwide minutes, no nights or weekends.
I really only use about 1k minutes a month. Our current plan with Nextel includes 1000 shared minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited direct connect, free long distance and roaming. I can get the same thing from T-Mobile minus the nights and weekends for $25.00 a month. I don't know what my gf plans to get but I'm trying to see if I can get her on the $10.00 dealer plan which includes 400 anytime nationwide minutes, no nights or weekends.
My gf recently got a second hand car, a 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback DX. We got it for $10k from a Honda dealership with a two year 36k mile warranty. We are extremely happy as it will help us tremendously. Man I'm so happy to get rid of that $180.00 a month bill for a cell phone.
Bye bye BEEP BEEP!
Edit
I'm really gonna miss Nextel. But I know that it is the only way that I can save some sort of money. $180.00 a month to be able to get right through just isn't worth it. Not with my current salary. Maybe when I'm making 50k a year is when I'll truly be able to afford Nextel and their high prices.
