I'm getting rid of my Nextel

$180.00 a month for two lines. My gf and I are both done with our contracts and we want out! It is just too expensive to keep up with. We could afford it but it's just a lot of extra money going out the door. It seems to me that the trend is finally dying down. I'm going to go onto a T-Mobile dealer plan which is $25.00 a month for 1000 anytime nationwide minutes, no nights or weekends.

I really only use about 1k minutes a month. Our current plan with Nextel includes 1000 shared minutes, unlimited nights and weekends, unlimited direct connect, free long distance and roaming. I can get the same thing from T-Mobile minus the nights and weekends for $25.00 a month. I don't know what my gf plans to get but I'm trying to see if I can get her on the $10.00 dealer plan which includes 400 anytime nationwide minutes, no nights or weekends.

My gf recently got a second hand car, a 2000 Honda Civic Hatchback DX. We got it for $10k from a Honda dealership with a two year 36k mile warranty. We are extremely happy as it will help us tremendously. Man I'm so happy to get rid of that $180.00 a month bill for a cell phone.

Bye bye BEEP BEEP!

Edit

I'm really gonna miss Nextel. But I know that it is the only way that I can save some sort of money. $180.00 a month to be able to get right through just isn't worth it. Not with my current salary. Maybe when I'm making 50k a year is when I'll truly be able to afford Nextel and their high prices.

cjeck you coverage area.

Tmobile doesn't have "roaming" so should you even get strandied the extra 30 cents for roaming would at least be a nice option.

Actually T-Mobile has free roaming nationwide. I sell T-Mobile this is how I know. Their coverage where I live is excellent.

tmobile only roams off other gsm carriers...which if you check the coverage, can be very limited. I think thats what tn37 was trying to say. If you sell Tmobile, then you should surely have a Tmobile phone, good luck!

Nope, our dealer plan is different from yours. You probably got yours through Nextel Communications. Our company is Nextel Partners. They cater to the smaller Nextel markets, which is my market. The dealer plan didn't have unlimited nights and weekends or even unlimited direct connect. And if I'm not mistaken you have to be a direct employee which I am not. I'm an indirect.
