Well, she told me she preferred sapphires instead of diamonds, and when I asked for advice about ring, she said she liked twists and didn't like the prongs that come on regular rings. Combine that with some metal allergies, and I ended up with that Platinum band and the sapphire.

I had a business trip to LA a while ago and looked at about 20-25 sapphires while I was there, but didn't find the right one until I came back to Madison to see the ones a local jeweler brought in from NYC.
