I know that I won't even try loading the drivers that come with it, I'm also in Canada, is there anything else I should know to make the transition a smoth one.

You absoutly will need the VIA 4.25 4in1 drivers. Also, you will need to seperatly download and install the VIA 4.04 AGP drivers.

The drivers from the install CD are fine. If you absoutly must have the latest, the 4.13.7041 WHQL drivers are available for Win9x, and 5.0.3073 for 2K.

This card rocks! Overclock it to 183/183 to bump up performance a bit.

Thier Win2000 drivers are fine the way they are at the moment. Half the people that say "oh its buggy blah blah blah" only say it because thats what they have "heard" from someone and not seen it for them selves. Some others are to stupid to Acknowledge that ATI has come out w/ 6 driver updates for Win9X and 4 driver updates for Win2K since its release in Augest. I have had my Radeon 64 ever since release and i have *never* had a single compatibility/buggy problem at all!! No matter what OS your running just download the latest drivers from www.rage3d.Com and you'll be set.

ATI is suppose to release DX8 drivers soon too that will give win9x/win2k a big speed boost.

I got the all in wonder radeon too.. I like it.. it's a wicked multimedia card.. Do the drivers on the CD really suck that bad?? This is my first system (that's actually solely mine) ... and installing drivers and stuff is something I never had to do before.. I like the colours on the damn thing though.. sweeeeet! (or maybe it's just me)

uh I really want to get\try one.....but I've read so many people slam ATI drivers and the radeon all in wonder I'm kind of leary......

It's good to read something positive about the card......

My two cents, try the registry tweaks found in the Radeon guide at rage3d. NFS5PU needs 16,24,32 zbuffer bit depths set in display properties. The forums there are very helpful.

Thanks all for the suggestions, the install went very well and better than I expected.

Two things that I have noticed though,

1) I have the 4.12.3056 drivers and tried to install the 4.13.7041 (as suggested) from rage3d but the install said that I already had newer drivers and it's recommended that I keep those ???

2) I can't load the MP2 file (no matter where it is) that ATi uses to record TV but I switched it to AVI and choosed the divx codec and everything works, the heck with MP2 anyway.

That is the only two issues that I have with it, and ATi said that they are working on the MP2 problem. As to drivers I don't see any problems. Also I'm getting about 80FPS without any tweaks yet in CS and I now have a ping of 42-50, before on a good server with my TnT2 I'd get 40FPS and 90-100 was the lowest ping I ever got. So the card also helped my ping by about %40.
