I did my taxes last night and I'm getting another big refund because of my mortgage interest. How much are you guys getting back?

You suck! I netted -$30 between my federal and state returns.

EDIT: just think, you could have seen that money in the first place if you'd played your cards right...instead you gave the gov't an interest-free loan in 2003!

Yes, I live in a condo/townhouse (1400 sq ft) by myself and I'm approaching 41 years old and have never been on a date.

Nothing wrong with any of that.

So in context, that $4700 doesn't make much difference in the grand scheme of things. 😛

lol

So let's get some specs on the rig you're building ...? 😛 With ~$5k I'd build a system that would still be fast in five years hehe

I got $254 from Uncle Sam and he took it back cause I am a disabled vet who owes money to the Veterans hospital and $70 from the state of Idaho.

between fed and state i got back about 5100. Mortage and school loan is what bumped it up.

I had 4300 left to pay off my hot tub so its mine now. 😀

I got that much back too and it really pisses me off. I think I have figured out my withholding this year to come out even. I hate giving the government a loan :|

Remember folks, a refund might sound good on the surface, but it's actually counterproductive. The government IS NOT giving you money, they're just returning what you already overpaid them. What you're doing is giving them an interest-free loan for the last year. Instead of that money being invested and working to earn interest FOR YOU, it's making money for them. If you're getting money back instead of paying you're LOSING MONEY.
