Should I go with the 128mb version link

or

Should I go with the 256mb version link

These cards appear to be identical with the exception of the memory, am I correct? Do they both run at the same speed? I looked at Gainwards site but they don't really list the specs very clearly.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thats what they said about the 128MB TI4200. Now look at where we are.

128MB ti4200 is still useless... go bench them both with the same clock speed.. less than 2% difference at best

Even 1600x1200 with 4xFSAA needs only 77MB RAM...

The best FX5600 is the one that is labeled ATI 9600pro on the box.;)

OK first off I would advise you against getting an fx5600. You'd be better off with a ti4200 for cheaper, or a 9600pro for a little more. But, if you really want to get an fx5600, get the 128mb model.

In a lot of cases the fx5600 is too slow to run at 1600x1200 with 4xfsaa anyways.

guys, I think he knows what card he wants, and if he wanted a 9500 pro, 9600pro, or whatever, he would have put that in the title, just let him know some info on the two cards since thats his qusetions.

Oops, I've just noticed the price: for 145$, the 256MB is not that expensive. But is it an Ultra Rev.2?

Thats a strange statement... it would change from scene to scene... and game to game...

Run simcity 4 @ 16x12 with 4X and lets see what it uses ;) .

I think he means just framebuffer. Texture storage requirements will vary from game to game, then theres S3TC and DXTC as well.

Yes. Anyway, 256MB on FX5600s and FX5200s is a joke, a needless trick of the marketing strategies.
