I actually use facebook, it's like a more mature version of myspace. When people grow up a bit, they leave myspace, migrate to facebook, and then eventually I guess leave facebook too. (although facebook can be used to keep in touch with people in employment networks too)

Anybody else feeling good after finally leaving that site for good? I just feel great now, I spent too much time on that site, it was finally time to leave.

I know you are kind of joking around here but why is it automatically assumed that only morons use myspace? It's not that bad of a tool if you aren't using it to promote yourself as some internet hero.

I keep an account there to reconnect with people I've lost touch with. I check it every once in a while to see if any of my friends have signed up. Don't hate the site, hate yourself for not having the self-control to not become part of the "Myspace culture."

Myspace is actually a great place for bands to use and I might use it for my band eventually.
Aikouka is right about the chain bulletins btw, they're worse than the chain letters going around on youtube.
As for keeping in touch with old friends, aim does it really well and usually I can find old friends through other old friends, and I can actually get involved in a conversation with them, although I think that myspace has an im service too(I never used it though).

Please, for the love of god, if you use that for you band, do not spam out friend requests. I HATE bands requesting to be my friend just as much as some spam bot. That is, unless I am actually friends with said band, then it'd make sense. I would like if MySpace had better friend organization as well.. the top 8 crap is worthless compared to categorizing. Oh and MySpace also needs some preference to turn off user changes made to their MySpace pages and default them for your own viewing back to the normal layout.
