WHY would you let your kid dictate to you where you live?

I understand trying to work with the kid...but sometimes you have to do what you have to do...and the kid has to live with it...like it or no t.

I work outside, but I'm fine with that. Just tired of falling. Drive to the job with some classical on the radio, and all's right with the world. Still a winter wonderland. Fuck everything about heat and summer, with heat being defined as 70F or higher.
 
I have never been happier to see cold weather. The last 4 or 5 days I've been watching the forecast for another giant storm barreling towards the northeast with another foot of snow possible for my area. And like a gift from the poutine god, a nice big arctic air mass has come drilling down from Hoserville and nudged the storm just *barely* enough to the south that it's going to scrape by with nothing but a minor dusting at worst. I'll happily take single digits tonight to be spared shoveling another foot of the white stuff.
 
I was cringing at the thought of a super cold beginning of March. Then, I realized, perfect timing. I just put out 6 gallons of apple-pear cider to freeze concentrate. 🙂 Tomorrow, I'll put out 6 gallons of apple. I'll bottle them up later in the week.
 
one more super cold day and we'll be seeing snow finally melting later this week. what a cold and shitty winter... promises cold spring at least in midwest and north east

What with this long winter and then the California is awesome thread, I'm all smugged out. I'd love to point out how pleasant it was here, but I just can't. Too tired of rubbing it in. 🙁

Dallas low is 50 degrees colder today than it was yesterday. Possible record low over night(10 0r lower) and sub zero windchills(down to -10). We are expected to be below freezing for 52 hours. It was 84 on Friday. Yeah fuck you winter.

We're only a little bit past half way, there's still lots of winter left, and if it's like last year, there is tons more snow on the way too.

Don't get your hopes up if it starts melting either, unless it's June.

-27 outside with a windchill of -34. Suppose to go to -40.

But yeah, summer would be nice. The only downside of summer is it goes by so fast, if you blink it's gone, then it's winter again. It's better looking forward to summer than to live the reality that it's almost over. 😀
 
meanwhile in Denmark, we've had the 5th warmest winter in 140 years. They got more fucking snow in Egypt than we did, it's bullshit.
 
You know Rudeguy, if you want to warm up a bit, I say just take a stroll down into the lovely city of Detroit. Once there you can buy some crack off the local crack guy, then instead of paying...Run. Nothing warms you up like running for your life from a crack head!
 
Apparently felt like -13f on my way into work. I didn't even notice. Getting used to this.

After today it should stay warmer from here on out. We even get 35f before end of the week.

FYI: In late Feb GR was the third snowiest city in the US behind Erie and Buffalo and ahead of Syracuse. Rochester was next followed by Ann Arbor and Detroit. Michigan has gotten pummeled this year. As of Saturday morning it was the second snowiest winter ever for Detroit Metro Area with 79.2" of snow with the record being 93.6" in 1880. Then we got another 3-4" Saturday night and we have the rest of March to go.

For reference the average for this area is 27"

I really don't mind getting a ton of snow, it doesn't bother me a bit. Its the bitter cold and lack of sunshine. We haven't gotten any real snow in a while but you can't tell. Its so cold that nothing has melted off. When we got the rain that was supposed to melt everything, the temps were so cold that all it did was freeze. I keep putting driveway melt down outside hoping to loosen up some of the ice. It hasn't helped.

The cold isn't a huge deal to me, but being dark all the time does suck. That's been gone for a while now though around here.
