On a track (in a car), I'm sure I could threshold brake and out-stop ABS. On the road, I'm glad to have it for the mentioned panic-stop occasions. But I've still always thought it was really stupid to try and 'sell' ABS as superior braking based on numbers that compare it to a 100% sliding stop.
I don't ride, but something tells me I would not want to experience locked brakes on a bike...can you lock both wheels easily or is it typically just one end that wants to slide? Thinking about locking the front on two wheels seems pretty damn scary.
