I thought it would never happen to me until it did. Just the other day, i had someone charge up my card. The only one that has that number is paypal. Im done.
 
That does not mean its PayPal's fault. In fact it is much more likely that there is a security breach on your end.

It's more likely that you clicked on an email from eBlay to "correctify your account enstopplement problem" and gave them your personal information to "fix" the problem.

Or that you used the card to buy gas or food, or at an ATM with a shim installed . . . .
 
Paypal has been known to do this. They also paint tunnel entrances on the sides of mountains fooling the unwary traveler. They are the debil.
 
you just made my check my paypal account and i find 20$ in my account.... i havent had money in that account since i got a CC about a year ago

We just had a major "skimmer" incident around here, many #'s were harvested and
used in Las vegas were I guess you can get cash from an ATM without a PIN#. The
amount so far is around 750K stolen so far. When asked why cards are allowed to
dispense cash without a PIN# a Las Vegas tourism Rep. said " were a consumer
friendly city" No word for a couple of weeks in local media as to the status of the
investigation but most guess that once enough #'s were harvested the persons
responsible removed the skimmer before the fraudulent charges were made...

I agree. Paypal isn't in business because they randomly give out people's credit card numbers.

I've never seen a 'real' ATM that will give you cash without a PIN, but many casinos (and Vegas has no shortage of those) have machines to let you get a cash advance on your credit card. No PIN required -- but they sock you with ridiculous fees on top of what your credit card company charges for an advance (often something like 3-5% of the total, PLUS it will be at a ridiculous interest rate like 20% per year).

The OP most likely had his card info taken somewhere else. Unless this is a card you ONLY used with Paypal, there are far more likely places and ways for it the number to get nabbed.
