My roommates eat nothing but Pasta Roni or Hamberger Helper after I've banned them from my food and I would'nt cook for them anymore...

Anyone else eat just Pasta Roni or any other boxed pasta deal?

That can't be healthy... make sure you suggest that if they continue to eat like that, they get a good multi-vitamin. They have to be missing some essential nutrients.

...i really don't believe you're a college student. you're telling me you're "disturbed" because you've never seen anyone eat nothing but boxed food? college is the place where people survive on packaged food, like 10-cent packs of ramen for weeks. i declare shenanigans. or you're rich. or sheltered. or something.

thats nasty, they will definitly get the "freshman 15" eating just pasta (too many carbs for the poor body)

Were you the guy complaining about cooking for your roomates earlier and about them eating your food? if so, then I am proud of you for putting your foot down and making them deal with it on their own. Someday they may actually learn to cook for themselves, but in the mean time you might want to offer to teach them how to cook or they are gonna kill themselves. good luck :)

I used to get 2 meals out of a box of KD (Kraft Dinner) in college... stop by the local Price Club, buy a case, and you had food for a month.

"Variety" was defined by the purchase of hot dogs or frozen veggies (throw in boiling water with pasta) to add to the mix.

Yep.

brtspears2 - are your roommates that helpless that they can't cook a normal meal for themselves? I mean, they still need to use the stove to get your Hamburger Helper on, so it's not like they're totally incompetent.

Seriously, as long as they're not touching your food, let them eat unhealthy. Can't they at least make sandwiches?? I'm not the greatest chef in the world but I can make a mean sandwich.

I had some variety in college. I ate rice, top ramen and mac & cheese. And one meal a month I would buy like a steak or pork chop and some potatoes. I did take vitamins all the time though. For those with some difficulty with their memory, I took a mega-dose of B12 and lots of Lecithin (building blocks for dendrites and a neural stimulant). You need to take a blend of B's to be able to properly process B12. It did amazing things for my memory, which always helps on required classes that only require regurgitation of info.

It should disturb you that they've trained you to get in touch with your maternal instincts :D. My old roommate used to eat nothing but microwaved Chef Boyardee in small cans. I'm sure he's still alive somewhere.

This summer, dinner has only been my real dinner :)

Breakfast is either a donut or Lucky Charms with milk or Mountain Dew. Lunch is a quesadilla, rice or hotdogs.

I eat nothing but grilled burgers, steaks, ramen, ezmac, tuna helper, sandwiches and junk food...theres nothin wrong w/ it. When I try to cook I burn it...I can't cook a hardboiled egg...I've burned a microwave meal. A normal person eats 2 sandwiches for dinner, I eat 4, a little juan's burrito, a ramen, 3 things of ezmac, a salad, 3 packs of fruit snacks, and a slimjim....I'm fine...I'm healthy, I workout. My roommate eats nothing but snack food...chips, ezmac, fruit snacks, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and pot pies. Hes got like 8% bodyfat, is the most ripped kid you've ever seen in your life...college kids aren't supposed to cook...you're supposed to eat unhealthy...oh yeah...we consume 3-4 pizzas a week too

<------ reels back in shock and bewilderment

I cook meals from scratch for myself at least 4 nights a week (aspiring chef, yes) and it saddens me to see people wallowing in such culinary filth. Makes me want to pursue my career even further. :)

Seriously...college=malnurished. college=not sleeping. College=your last chance to be irresponsible before you really pay for it.
Your roommates sound like completely normal college students. I wouldn't worry too much unless they get a case of scurvy or rickets.

I eat a lot of Stouffer's Lasagne. Its super cheap, and easy to make. Around here, its been on sale for $8 (down from the normal $11)... which is fine with me :)
