I'm disowning my dog

She has sniffed around bottles before and even licked a few, but she won't drink any. I even gave her a little snifter full in her bowl, and she won't even go near it. I can't believe this. Cruel act of God to create a dog that doesn't like beer.

Once when Brutus was just a puppy I sat a glass of dark beer (the only kind I drink) on the floor while I was eating.
He got into it and drank some (he seemed to like it) I scolded him for it, and he hasn't touched beer since.

I used to have a black lab who liked beer quite a bit - we had a family party at our house once when he was young, and my uncle was dumb enough to set his beer on the ground while he was playing horse shoes - the dog walked over, drank the whole thing, then wobbled over and passed out in the far corner of the yard 😛 He was fine the next day though.

Want to trade pooches? Mine loves the stuff, even the thicker stronger ales, stouts and porters. I have to be careful about where I leave full glasses. If one is ever unattended for more than a few minutes she'll find a way to get at it.

Coworker of mine has a beagle named "Barley" no less. If you are sitting around him with a bottle of brew, he will sit and growl at you until you poor some beer on the ground for him to lick up.

I joke that they have an alcoholic doggy 😀
