I've had good success with that program as well.

Now that is just good nerd hoarding habits. Although, I must say, I did throw out a 386 and 486 mobo recently.

 
I also have used r-studio

works great if the information has not been over written yet.

ie you deleted the partion or reformated you should be able to recover fine
