I'm connected through wireless at the aiport

Waiting for my ride so I decided to start the laptop. Low and behold, it finds a wireless network. $6.95 later I'm browsing the internet.... 🙂

It gave me 24 hours. I hope it's 24 hours of online time - then I can use it on subsequent visits.
 
most of my friends that travel just connect thru their cell phones... but its nice to know that airports are starting to offer wireless internet - i just wonder how long it will be before something serious gets hacked

The little sh!thole regional airport I fly out of on occasion (it has a total of like 15 gates, heh) has free WiFi as well.

 
ft lauderdale airport has a free wireless connection the last time i was there with my laptop 🙂

I don't think we have even 15 gates in Tallahassee, but we do have free wireless in the airport as well as in the downtown area.

Nope. It's 24 hours from the time you connect.
 
Most free wifi I've encountered has offered web speeds at ISDN or lower bandwidth. The T-Mobile Hotspot he connected to at the airport is broadband speeds.

Now, would I pay 6 bucks for braodband speeds over dial-up speeds? Sure.

Me too...but I don't have to. I've got lots of those free 30 day Hotspot cards Dell gives you with laptop purchases from our last round of Dell purchases. 😀
