Despite being in Canada, Vancouver is lucky to get maybe 4 days of snow a year, and they all happen in December/January, with an outside shot of having a 5 minute snowfall on a single day in another month. It's late March and snowing like crazy here.

The flakes are HUGE. I'm talking 3" long. I think my world is coming to an end or something.

huge lazy flakes kick ass. snowflakes rock, it's cool when you're wearing a black coat and walking outside when it is snowing, you get to study their intricacies for a couple seconds before they melt. awesome natural beauty IMO

ZOMG I almost created this same thread!

This is insane, but unfortunately it's not sticking in my area.

The "Canada" part overpowers the "not really that far north" part. Thus, you are a tree. And covered in snow. Stereotype fulfilled!

He's in Vancouver. They're wusses when it comes to tough weather - they're not like the other hardcore Canadians or those in the upper midwest. They claim to be cool like the rest of the Canadians, but they're pansies.

We had hail and snow yesterday here in Victoria. Lasted a few hours off and on, never stuck to the ground though.

We did have a snow/rain mix, but that already melted away.

Mostly agree, except the tough weather part. They didn't call in the army (yet) like Toronto... And I live in Toronto.

The tank is currently stationed at the east coast, west coast is too far.

Try 50 straight days of rain and see how long you last. I've gone months at a time without ever seeing the sun. :(

Yep, snowed in Portland this morning. Very minor though. Just flakes with no real accumulation.

A late March snow, even after it seems like spring has already began, is not an uncommon event in the Pac NW. It happened year before last and in 2000 (IIRC). I remember this because it's a long-running joke here in Portland that the weather is always bad during spring break (which is this week).
