A guy I work with attempted to climb Mt. Whitney last summer. He's 34 years old, trained for months and they didn't make the summit due to an injury IIRC.

Make up an "ATOT" flag and set it up on a telescoping pole at the summit. Take pics, of course

I went up to somewhere around 7000-8000 feet from Paradise, as the quote above describes. It was weird to walk around and lay down in snow in the summer!
