I'm choking

I don't know if this is the right place for this but I need help.

I have about 3 computers in my bedroom, a small bedroom at that and all these computers plus all the boxes create alot of dust... and now that allergy season began, i've had to shut my windows for good until pollen season is over. So now that my windows are shut, and with all this dust in my one window room, i've had to choke on all the junk in the air.

So here I am, wanting to do something about it, but I don't know what to do. What's the best way to get rid of all the junk in the air?

I've been looking around for an air purifier but I've heard that many of them don't really work that well. There's that Ionic Breeze thing on TV but I heard it sucks. There are the ones with the HEPA filters that my allergist recommended but those things are like $600 a piece and to be honest, I think that's a whole mafia with the allergist and these air purifier companies, i'm sure the docs are getting a piece of the action so I really don't trust them. There' also this thing I found last weekend at Bed, Bath and Beyond: www.venta-airwasher.com . I don't know how good this thing is but it looks interesting.. not only is it an air purifier but also a humidifier... it would be perfect for me.
There aren't that many other options out there as far as I know... that's why i'm here... to seek help, and hopefully some of you use these products and can recommend me something that is not too expensive. I'm willing to pay for something up to $300 only if it does what it's supposed to do, and maybe even a bit higher if it cleans my room. Or if there are other options, I would love to hear it. Anything that will make my breathing in my bedroom alot better... and sick and tired of waking up in the middle of night choking and haveing to dust almost every day. Thanks in advance!

get a used HEPA air filter. got one at a garage sale last week with a relatively new filter for $10. HEPA filters(at least on my unit) only need to be replaced every year or two or three(depending on use) so it isnt that much of a cost thing,(prefilters need replacement every 90 days though)

try this $100 for 12x9foot bedrooms

ohyeah, size of room please.

If you are indeed choking b/c of air quality then you will have to either get a hepa filter (not ionic breeze) or clean up the dust. My family ripped up all of our carpets due to my allergies and they have been much better since.

Of course, drugs help you as well 🙂 . I currently take Nasocourt (1 shot in the morning, 1 in the afternoon). And an allegra in the morning and I am set for the day.

Once a year I start hacking really badly like you do, and I am givin this drug to inhale and it opens up your breathway so that you are no longer coughing. It isn't the spray, it is a powder that you inhale.

Hope this helps!

But how good are these HEPA filter aparatuses? Do they really work? My allergist recommended it, but like I said, I think she's getting a piece of the action every time a sale is made through the company that she recommended.
Anyways, as far as cleaning goes... there's not much I can do about it.. the dust is all over the air.. I can clean and clean and dust will not go away. It's almost impossible to get rid of. Seriously, its literaly in the air... I can see it!! ewwww... i'm sick sick sick man. 🙁

Isn't yuo allergist a board certified M.D.? if he/she is I think you cant trust him/her(being doctors and all, and having to honor the hippocratic oath). if you really dont trust yuor allergist, you should see yuor PCP(primary Care Physician) or switch to another allergist.

here's another question for you all....has anyone had a ductwork cleaning service come in and clean out your heating/AC ducts?

If so, did you notice any improvement?
