i bought my microwave and vacuum at costco for about 150 bucks combined, tax not included. too bad its not near you.
as for a mattress, try finding a major dept store that sells mattresses. see if they have free interest financing for a year. if so, buy a nice mattress and slowly make the payments over that year.
sofa: if you need one badly, the ikea ones will "do." My parents bought their furniture at a flea market (ahh bargaining with asians) and it came out pretty cheap. plus they deliver. just remember to tip. flea markets can be a great place to deal, just know the quality won't be as great as other places. it'll hold up if you take care of it.
mop/broom/cleaning supplies - walmart. or target. this is where it definitely is the cheapest.
i do have some things from ikea - i have their 50 dollar dining table, which is fine since its only used by two people. also have a small 50 dollar desk from there, a nice two drawer stand that has a stereo on top of it, a desk lamp, etc. nothing really big.
