I'd say it's a scam. One location in Brooklyn but if you are near it and want to buy from them, I'd go there in person and NOT buy online. I found this with a quick search...

There are a LOT of horrible stories and a couple that say it's great, but those are from people that are most likely made up by the owners.
If they ever do send a tv it will be a gray market version from China or some other place where there is no US warranty.

Can you elaborate on how they are terrible? My experiences there led me to my tv that I enjoy very much and the community there tends to be quite helpful when it comes to tracking new firmware updates and other support issues.

They are pretentious gits that think spending more money always gets a better product. They are easily misled by reviews by people getting items that are cherry picked by manufacturers for reviews specifically, and are not representative of the actual products you find on the market.
They think perceived value is actual value.
They all try to impress each other with how much they spent on a product whether it's worth it or not, it's a prince vs. popper mentality and if you don't own at least as expensive a model as them, you are the peasant.
I'd go on as there is a lot more, but that's enough time spent on something not worth the time.

Maybe not always, but enough to make a person wade through a ton of garbage to find anything worthwhile. Not good in general unless you want to spend an inordinate amount of time on it.

Well, I went with a budget option after spending some time over there.

There are certainly plenty of people who make AV their hobby and blow a ton of money on it and flaunt it... but I see quite a few folks who just want a good experience and the pieces to make it work.

Sorry you had a terrible time in there. Thankfully there are rtings and others to help everyone get good info/reviews.

I agree, AVS is great. Only my wallet disagrees.

I see plenty of posts on AVS referencing Rtings, so it's not like you won't get any sort of information from there.

I'd look at rtings with grain of salt. Too cold.

Get 75" Sony x900 for your sitting distance. You can't go wrong with this model really.

Don't read too much of AVSForums unless you desire a painful headache. Just skim through it...

I'm mostly blind in one of my eyes so brightness is pretty important. I just bought LG 65SJ8500 and 55SJ8500 for a secondary living room and a bedroom. I could have gone oled but $3k for a 65" oled is something I didn't really want to have to shell out for. 5 years from now i'll be ready to upgrade again....
