I'm buying a camera, a 35mm camara. That's right, 35mm! Suggestions?

For reasons beyond my control, I'm now in the market for a 35mm camera. This is actually for someone else since I'm all digital 🙂

Budget is a little over $100 and has to be a "point and shoot." Let me describe to you who'll be using this camera. Well, you know the general view that Apple computer users are at a certain level when it comes to hardware/software/non-power user. This person who will be getting a camera is below that. We need a real simple point and click camera since I doubt she will have the desire to learn anything new. Sad but I feel that its true.

Is zoom capability feasible on a ~$100 camera?

Thanks guys and gals! 😀

Thanks RossMAN

In all honesty, I use the search function quite frequently. I just never would have thought that people would ask such a question here since ppl here would 99% go digital.

Actually, I wouldn't have either. Sorry about the sarcasm. 🙁

Bah!! I'm not even 1% digital. I'm still happily using my nikon F5 and n90s and they're taking pictures just fine. The only thing a digital camera can give me is instant gratification. 🙂 Yes, I'd love to have it but at $5,000 for one I think I'll pass.

i think for that price the minolta freedom zoom 90 or something like that is very good. it was recently redone, and this p & s is a camera that has been around for a long time for minolta. they just keep upgrading it every so often.

another good p& s would be a new Fuji one, came out about 60 or so days ago, in Japan at least, not sure if they're here yet, darn i cannot recall the model name! canon has an old-ish one, the canon 'classic' or something, the fuji and this canon are above 100 bucks.
