i am puting my 1200 axia athlon on my 8k7a and there is a sticker on the socket that says to use thermal paste but does not specify where it is talking about and i just want to make sure im not missing something here are they only speaking of the heatsink or is there more and do i put it on the entire wafer or just the tiny half inch thing in the center and there are these four pads on the corners of the wafer are these to be removed

Just put thermal paste on the die, the small, raised, rectangle in the center
where it gives you a description of the speeds and stepping of the chip. Do
not put it on the whole chip, and don't remove the four pads in the corners either.

That is correct. Also when installing the heatsink. Try not to press to hard on the heatsink or you could crush the CPU core (rectangle piece on CPU). Put the pressure the Clips.

Yeah be careful, from what i have heard amd chips crush easier than intel
