I'm looking for an ATX motherboard. I'm not too keen for onboard graphics. So should I go the way of PCI-E? Can anyone recommend me a motherboard + Graphics card?

Should that vid card play the newest game alright?

I will never buy another compaq again. I had one before, and it was pure crap.

actually I see a lot of HP/Compaq systems these days with ASUS motherboards
plus a lot of these HP/Compaq system have socket 939 motherboards that can support
Dual-Core. Not that I'd buy one but if I was working strictly on budget I would because I think I'd want a socket 939 board.

x700pro aint that good .
coz firstly its only has shader model 2.0
its wouldnt be future proof .
just check the benchmarking methods in the new 3dmark2006 .
there is shader model 2.0 and HDR with shader model 3.0 .

an geforce 6600 with GDDR2 or 6600GT or a Radeon x1600pro would be better blend for the future .

Peace & ciao !!!
