In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2He was in the beginning with God. 3All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

The Word = Jesus. So ultimately, I guess you're right.

I don't care where the government gets the money as long as I get my healthcare. As far as I'm concerned it's totally free of charge. Viva la socialism.

If you don't pay taxes now, you'll probably feel differently once you do. Or may be you'll be like the roughly 1/2 of Americans who pay no Federal income tax because they have low income.

You're aware that you have an unsustainable model, right?

Apparently obvious sarcasm goes over your head.

I disagree. I would say the American model is unsustainable. Then again, it's just like an American to tell the rest of the world that their model is unsustainable, despite the American model teetering on collapse.

Our model is unsustainable too. Enjoy the "freebees" while they last.

I was on a plane and overhead someone who just came back from New Zealand saying how incredibly anti-American the place was. What gives?

It's not unsustainable, my country has always been this way. Healthcare for all has been around since the constitution, hence no one here would have it any other way. That's the way it's been, and that's the way it will always be.

The fact that there is an income threshold to where people start to be taxed on it forces people to either "give back" or unload themselves from the government. I believe it's highly sustainable. The only thing that isn't is the Liberal parties cuts to actual healthcare workers, but that's a whole other debate.

Um... here in MA you pay a fine or have health insurance - period. Whether it's MA subsidized, private, or employer.

Yes, and it's bankrupting our state. I sometimes question why I'm still living in MA, but for the most part, I like the people.

WTF???? YOu are going to be taxed to pay for Medicare????? Please explain fully. Medicare is NOT public health. Geez, do people just make stuff up or what?
Next time try finding out about what your posting about.

Oh, and if you are hit by a car and were brought to the ER with no health insurance would they just let you die if you didn't have health insurance? No. So you really had some coverage you weren't even paying for.

All you needed to do is look at his location. In the US, it varies from state to state. If you don't have health insurance and don't qualify for medical assistance, you're faced with a huge friggin bill in your example.

You would be incorrect.

I just know the honest working middle class Americans who have a job that allows them to have health insurance benefits through their employers are going to get SCREWED with all the "health care reform".

And how many of the people that don't have health insurance actually pay those huge bills? Typically the hospital never sees a dime of that money.
