I'm beginning to think that campus visits in the summer have no point...

Pretty much as the title says:

I've been visiting some college campuses this summer (going to be a senior this year). About all you can do though is basically see the facility. That's nice, but there are hardly any students and there and really no faculty. Everything's closed. No classes are in session.

My parents and everyone else has been pushing to get all these visits done over the summer, which is what I've been doing, but it's really getting me nowhere. I'd hate to have to repeat it all over again sometime when there's actually human activity going on there.

(for those who are curious):

I have visted:

University of Minnesota (St Paul/Minneapolis)
Indiana University (Bloomington)
Northern Illinois University (Dekalb)

I will be visiting

University of Michigan (Ann Arbor)
Depauw University (Greencastle)
Lawrence University (Appleton)
Lamont School of Music (University of Denver)

Yes, Campus Visits don't really seem to have a point.

Also, don't go to Lawrence University, East Appleton natives aren't very friendly.

there is summer school at some so when i visited purdue it wasnt as bad, we had a tour from a kid, and some faculty things, it was cool

If you visited UM during spring term, you probably still would've seen a lot of students...and a lot of asians, too. 😉 Summer term, not so much.

We took my sister to see Johns Hopkins, Carnegie Mellon, Georgetown and UPenn, and those places are gooooorgeous. I was kicking myself every step along the way for staying near home. 🙂

When are you dropping by DePauw? I move in on the 17th of August, so I might say hello.
