So my headlights go out last night. I tried to get the right one off, noticed teh connector is MELTED. I then noticed the left was also going out (it had a brown thing on the lense). So rather than drive without headlights, i changed the left side (which is slightly melted) connector with Silvanya Silverstars.

Then today i was planning to solder on (heat solder using a lighter) to solder on a new connector on the old connections. Well as it turns out that didnt happen, i dont have two extra hands..

now i cant take teh car out with one light out and a fear of a short. I am hoping my roomie's bf gives me a quick ride to Home Depot so i can get some quick connects and use them to connect on the new peices. Hope they will hold good.

Ford doesnt sell wiring hardness for it, just a whole wiring hardness which is like 125 bucks. I just need the 9003/H4 connector. So i got those from a motorcycle wrecker.

I ran the OP's post thru my idiot translator and it came out like this. I see my program still needs some work.

Ford doesn't sell a wiring harness for it, just a whole wiring harness which is like 125 bucks. I just need the 9003/H4 connector. So I purchased those from a motorcycle wrecker.

I don't get it. It's not necessary to have four hands to fix some wiring.

So to fix the problem caused by using over-wattage headlamp bulbs, you installed another over-wattage bulb? Really smart.

For the record, the "Silverstar" bulbs available in North America are crap and should not be used as they increase glare greatly and also over-tax the stock wiring.

the problem was created due to stock bulbs, not overwattage bulbs. The silverstars arent overwattage, so i cant see it causing any more issues.

anyway david (roomie's fiance) helped me use some crimp connectors.. it should do for now.

one to hold to peices of wire, another to apply, but i used crimp connectors so that should hold.
