I'm almost positive that I broke my toe at work...

I dropped a 50+ lb steel ramp on my toe and I am sure it is broken, but I refuse to go to the doctor because there is nothing they can do about a broken toe. Am I in the wrong?

I didn't report it. I didn't clarify that in the OP.

Yes.

You could get a blood clot in it that could either move to your brain or heart or elsewhere and kill you, or it could cut off the circulation in the toe, causing gangrene to set in and either killing you or causing your leg to be chopped off to save your life.

Well, wouldn't you get your toe in a boot? and at least get some pain killers?

Ahh, yea, that would be a comp claim for sure. Give you a little paid vacation free time to express yourself here. And I think you have 24 hours to report a work related injury claim. So get on it.

Neither would really help. Broken toes can't be set and seeing as to how I have been addicted to painkillers in the past I kind of brushed those off.

yeah, get it checked out by your doctor just to make sure bone marrow isn't floating into your bloodstream, or blood clots, or misaligned bone.

I would, but not having insurance and being a stubborn ass keeps me from going to get it checked out.

If your job has workmens comp they pay for the doctor, not you, and if you are out on a short leave, you still get paid.

This I know, but I was doing something I shouldn't have been at the time which makes it difficult. I was simply helping out a coworker in a different department, but my place of employment frowns upon that for a reason.

Gah I hope you feel better and don't have any complications.

Just remember - better safe than sorry.

Or it could give you AIDS.

House says everything short of the F-bomb, goes ballistic, and says it must be HIV.

It might have been the episode "Thirteen", because I definitely wasn't paying attention to the plot in that one....

You'll probably be fine, but you are making an awful lot of excuses for not seeing a doctor, which is usually not a good thing.
