.... but I'm worried that I would waste a day off if all the shows are sold out. What are the chances of that happening? I only go to the matinee showings. Do you guys think the matinee showing of Star Wars will be sold out on opening day?

If you do then I will won't put in a request for the day off and just work normally.

luckily, I'm totally free that day, so the midnight showings (and subsequent afternoon showings) won't be an issue. :D

I did leave for work for 2nd episode, if I remember correctly, I also skipped classes to see the 1st episode. All in all, quite a letdown.

I waited a week before I saw Ep 1. I saw Ep 2 the day it came out but my work at the time took us to see it. I'm thinking about taking a half day the day Ep 3 comes out.

I won't be seeing it. I didn;t see the others and I have no desire. If you do take off work, good luck! and hope you enjoy it

It's called "midnight showing".

Solves the work schedule problem.

But not the weird matinee obsession.

I cut school to see episode 1.

the moral of the story?

boring and tedious high school classes > episode 1.

I will be at AMC Van Ness's 2nd showing (no fricking way I'm watching the 1st showing at midnight). I imagine a lot of geeks and nerds will be in line w/ their iPods.

my sister dragged me to the 12 am showing for Ep. 2, and yeah, it was awful.

I'm probably going to go to a random afternoon show on a weekday to go and see it (unless she drags me to Ep 3 opening night too... free movie ticket > empty theater).

Many theaters offer tickets for sale online. Check and see if they are sold out. If not, buy your ticket now.

I've already bought my ticket. :) Four of us are going to the 2pm showing opening day. The other three are taking off a day of work. I'm self-employed so I set my own hours anyway. :)

Gonna take the morning off and watch the 9AM showing, which I just bought the ticket for. I better get there around 7:30AM, the line's gonna be long as usual.
