Im about to SMASH this Radeon LE into little pieces

frover2000

I purchased a Radeon le a couple days ago to get it home and find a capacitor hanging off of it. So i waited the next morning to call the store back and they suggested I go ahead and try it out, well surprisingly it worked so with a fresh win2k install i try running 3dmark and it just locks up on the loading screen.

So i try a fresh install of win98se and 3dmark2000 actually runs, so i put it through the tests only to realize that it doesn't seem to be performing any better than my voodoo banshee. I get about 2000 points with the default test in 3dmark 2000, NOT 2001
that's obviously not right. I was expecting quite a significant improvement over my voodoo banshee which i certainly didn't get.

i have the latest via 4in1's, dx8, and i've tried various driver versions
so what the hell is left to get this pos to do what it's supposed to do?

This is your third post on the same subject. Please stop the insanity.

Why did you listen to them? I'm not sure, but it might possibly damage other parts of your system. Just return it, screw their suggestions.

dont think its related to the capacitor being absent.... got an EE degree?... hm i dunno.. if it was me i wouldnt have even installed it if i paid money for it.. ya the componets were put on the board for a reason.. and that missing capacitor could certainly lead to bad performance.. of course thats jus my opinion, heh...

In your other post, I suggested that you just solder the cap back on. But if this is from a store, then you should return it!! If its mail order, then RMA it!! In the worst case, you'll just have to pay shipping cost back to them. Where did you buy it from?

As before...RMA the thing before your time to do so expires or before you void the return privilege by messing with the broken card.
