We dated for 2.5 years. We broke up about two weeks ago. She is leaving for 5 months to study abroad and we are not together and she claims she'll want to get back together when she gets home but you know how that always works.

She came to visit me yesterday and we spent the day together but now its really good bye. I was thinking of just giving her a hug and a kiss on the cheek and telling her I love her, and good luck. Very civil.

She's going abroad? So she'll meet some Spanish or Italian guy...or wherever she's going. An (attractive?) American, alone in a foreign country. Oh yeah, she'll be easy prey 😀
 
Why do people even bother asking questions like that here? You don't need guidance for a 5 minute convo for a bunch of poor souls like us.

Just do what you feel is right, sheesh.
 
I'd go for a real kiss...try and make it good and try and remember it as well as possible- you'll miss them probably more than u realize now

Get a REALLY good kiss.
And then ask to borrow something of value too her.
She'll REALLY want it back eventually, at which point in time she'll come crawling back to you.
