OK this is getting ridiculous!

I'm starting to dream in my sleep about building systems and overclocking. Only in my dream the usual "problems" got way too weird. The first problem that I encountered while optimizing my BIOS settings was that, once I hit "DEL" to enter the BIOS on boot, the "Award BIOS" heading would pop up, but my BIOS would start playing a DVD that was in the drive. When I removed the DVD from the drive, it'd still play a small fragment of the DVD, in my dream I figured out that 2MB of the video was saved in the BIOS. Once I reflashed it would work, unless I left a DVD in the drive, in which case the problem would repeat itself. Why I had a DVD in the drive in a new system in my dream was beyond me.

The next "problem" was installing my newly developed non-conductive fluid cooling system. Basically you filled a water-tight case with this fluid and it cooled everything! Unfortunately it kept leaking out through the CD, DVD-ROM and floppy drives. Apparently I'm an idiot of galactic proportions in my own dreams because my computer illiterate wife knew it wouldn't work and was laughing as the fluid poured out all over our dining room table. Somehow I managed to seal the drives off with silicon caulking and filled all of the leaks.

The really weird part is that Leonard Nimoy is now working as tech support at Plycon.com. They even had a picture of him on their homepage welcoming him to their "team." It got even weirder when he was relaying a story to me about how he and his father, Sarek, had a similar problem when they were assembling his first computer as a child back on Vulcan. The weirdness hit a high point when, after all of his trouble-shooting tips had failed, he instructed me on how to perform a Vulcan mind meld with my new system to perform a "HISD" or "Human Interface System Diagnostic." Weirder still was that this didn't even seem unusual in my dream. I just did as instructed and my new system conveyed it's innermost thoughts to me. Come to find out, our computer problems aren't technical at all, they just want a little respect. They absolutely hate being overclocked and hate running Microsoft products even more. They liken it to running a Ferrari on diesel fuel.

Anyone got a good therapist?

Pretty cool mind trip, what most people dont know is that when you remember a "dream" you are not remembering a single "show" but bits and pieces of hundreds of dream thoughts, that is why they seem so bizarre.

Well, I thought it was a very lovely story. And you tell it so well.

LSD, and lots of it.

maybe you fry your mind and perma trip. then you would have the joy of working with computers all day 24/7 and never have to spend another dime on em.
