Wow, nice system there. Yes, Win2k is nice and stable (more so than 98 anyhow), and I'm sure you'll get CS working under 2k; one of my friends runs it on a TNT2 with no problem.

since i installed win2k, so far i have only tried q3a. and despite all the stories i've read about people saying their fps has dropped, mine has actually gone up by 10fps. this is with my crappy matrox millenium G200 (8mb AGP).

i strongly recommend daul boot between win2k/9x for a while just incase some hardware/software you have isn't supported in win2k... :)

I've used win2k for a year and games runs as good as in win9x, and it's more stable. Go for it :).

I dual booted with win 98 for gaming for about 8 months, then realised I hardly ever go to win 98 any more.. The games I play work in win 2k and I also have Kt7..

well game makers know that a lot of gamers will use win2k for stability so they will make their games compatible so i don't think you should worry too much.

what's a laser mouse? :) And the reason your computer crashed was probably because it's not stable. Try increasing voltage or lowering your speed.
