What is her name? The photos are just precious!
best wishes to you. :)

We named her Yamini :) It means night in Hindi.

How pretty! :) Congrats again!

My post exactly.

As a father of three, I can tell you it doesn't quite hit you until you're fully responsible for them. Wait till you and your wife are driving home with her in the baby seat and she's all yours.

;)

NICU visiting hours suck. Having someone tell you when you are allowed to visit your baby, and when you are allowed to pick them up, gets old fast. I'm sure the OP will come to know that alot more than me. I only dealt with it for 4 days.

Oh our hospital is actually really good. Me and the wife can visit 24 hours for as long as we want. They even have a pull out sofa bed type thing in the room so my wife can sleep over whenever she wants. They have a locker room for the parents with a full shower and what not. The waiting room has 2 fridges, microwave, and a coffee maker.

Wow, quite a bit different from my experience. The NICU was a high security area where you had to be buzzed in. Visiting times for non-parents were only 4 hours a day, broken up into 2hour spans. We had to leave twice a day for 2 hours during shift changes.

The buzzing in is the same here. For parents, its 24 hours and for non parents, it's from 11:00AM - 8:00PM. Only 3 people at a time inside as well.

hmm diffrent from when we went. me and my wife were allowed to stay in the room 24 hours.

yes htere was high security (she had a bracelet on that would beep if taken out of the ICU). visiting hours was a few hours. oh and NO children under 12 and only family could come in.

Our first baby was two weeks premature, or so we thought. The hospital was somewhat obliging, and within a day they decided she was full term and my wife had screwed up her last period date. :)

We had the next two at home, which was a vastly different, better, more comfortable experience for everyone.
(obviously not possible for everyone, but a nice alternative for us)
