I'm a complete nerd

before class today i find a seat in the middle of the room that seems safely isolated
and this girl who i sort of have the hots for comes and sits down next to me
and re-introduces herself (we had met before in another class) and tries to be conversational
all i can think of is try to be funny. don't force it. don't think about being funny and forcing it.
and im just mumbling straight answers to her questions
at the end of class she picks up my book and puts it in her bag
(even though at the beginning of class she mentioned she forgot hers and we'd have to share)
and then laughs and apologizes
OK BIG MOMENT here i think.
"that's ok" (nervous laugh) "thanks"
then i just walked out of the room

Dammit!

normally i don't have problems talking to girls, but i admit i'm not good at shooting the bull for more than a couple minutes (getting past the initial greeting). talking to people on the net isnt a problem, except i usually dont talk to people one-on-one online except for forums.
