Ils m'ont traité comme un cobaye dans un laboratoire. Juste d'y penser me donne mal à la tête. Je n'ai guère le goût d'en dire plus.

Live To Tell (Madonna)

ah, we had little milk bags at our highschool. I hated it when I poked that little pointy straw through one side and out the other. Then I had to drink my milk with my finger over the extra hole. :|

wait a minute.
milk doesnt come in bags in america?

well thats wierd now isnt it?

what does it come in? just cartons?

first no mr. dresssup now this?

*kat. <-- soooo happy she doesnt live in america.

Well I don't know; they hurt like sh!t when I pushed um through my skin. I think something a little sharper would be better.

Evan,

Not trying to be discreet. I just like to use French sometimes when I talk to someone in France. It is, after all, my mother tongue. 😛

Blanche Comme La Neige (Isabelle Boulay)

dennilfloss - That was my first adjustment after moving to the US, buying milk in cartons or plastic jugs. I like the bags better.

For the people who don't understand, milk is commonly sold in clear plastic bags (usually three packs). the outside plastic (where dennilfloss got his cute rings from) is opaque to protect the milk from degrading under light.

The milk bags fit into a jug and you snip them open with sissors (a cut on each corner for airflow).

Michael

dennil's link showed a two pack. Has it changed?

You're kidding me!? Milk Bags are a Canadian thing? Wow...learn something new everyday.

-GL

Milk comes in plastic cartons (1 gallon) and cardboard cartons < 1 gallon in Amercia. And it costs an arm and a leg, $3 for a gallon!

Expensive considering that your puny gallons are so much smaller than our Imperial gallons, 😛

Anyway, the 3rd milk bag is always the best tasting one. 🙂

Frozen (Madonna)

You knucks thinks milk in bags is normal?!?!?! NOT! You have to put it in a pitcher!!! You have to wash the container when you done! Not us, we use a plastic carton or a waxed cardboard thing. It's EASY!

RGN <-- doesn't want milk in bags

You don't need to wash the pitcher (just once in a while). You put the bag in the pitcher, not pour the milk in it, you sicko. 😛

Check the documentary to see how we snip the tips off our Canadian milk bags. 🙂

American Woman (The Guess Who)

RGN,

You don't put the milk from the bag in a pitcher. You slice off the corner of the bag after placing it in a bag holder.

milk is good,
but doen't it run down the corner of the bag and into the jug, like little droplets and get sour???
But why not make the interior bags light block too? I agree that the light block helps, in america some comes in a "light block bottle" which costs more, but taste's better. But in stores it must be more trouble to stack a liquid in a bag, i remember trying to get bags of dried beans to stay,,, not fun.

Dennil, from quebec? montreal? I have relatives in a little town i think east of montreal., near a city with cliffs, and a ferry across the canal.

Make sure you use sharp scissors to snip off the tip. If you just bite into the milk bag, that makes for a messy drip with milk splashing all over the place. 😱

ArkAoss,

I'm from Québec City, now living in Ottawa.

No Scrubs (TLC)

or you can get one of those nifty little milk bag cutters (often free with your pitcher)

*kat. <-- likes her nifty milk bag cutter.

Am I the only one who snipped both corners? Little snip and big snip for airflow? Like punching two holes in an apple juice can?

Michael

I often misplace those. When I find them, I yell:

Welcome back, cutter!😛

To anyone who thinks that this pun was cheesy, I say:

Up your nose with a rubber hose!

Daddy Cool (Boney M)

Applejuice can? Your canadian world is strange and scary to me. Ohhhh, like the juicy juice cans, yeah, two holes really make it pour faster.

Are you trying to tell me that there aren't any apple juice cans here in the US as well? I have no idea if Canada still has them, but they did when i left (10 years ago) and when I was last in Quebec (about 4 years ago).

dennilfloss - I understand your French just fine. I'm going to France for 10 days this fall, I need to get my brain thinking in french again instead of translating. I'd go to Montreal, but France is more fun for my wife.

Michael
