I was working for a petshop at 14, yes it was locally owned, and it was all under the table. Did I enjoy it, yes, lots of working with animals, feeding snakes, some not so fun stuff like cleaning cages was also included. I worked for the shop until it changed owners, and I did not get along with the new owners very well, so I quit and started doing computer work for individuals, mostly 60+ year old women who wanted somebody to sit down and show them how to do stuff step by step, starting with how to turn on the computer and how to use the mouse. This paid anywhere from $15-25 dollars an hour, and was something I enjoyed doing, but the pay didn't come on a regular enough schedule, so I started working at a Taco Bell, and have been there the last 2 years, pay isn't great, 7.25/hour, but I can pretty much work whatever shift I want to work and my boss is willing to work around my schedule and give me time off whenever I need it. I am currently a shift manager, and could probably become the asistant store manager if I really wanted to this summer.
My advice, do odd jobs around the neighborhood if you feel like you must make some money. Spend as much time as you can without having to worry about a job, go ride a bike around with your friends or something. And don't set yourself up as a computer geek in junior high, you will regret it in highschool.
Sorry for being so long. Go out and play.
